I was waiting for a table at the Yakatori place in the same shopping center with my girlfriend. Just wanted a bar to have a drink at and this was the closest place. Came in and sat at the bar and I was not disappointed. Hugo was the bartender and he was extremely welcoming. We had the adios between the two of us. It was delicious and they even gave us chips and salsa. I go to a lot of good Mexican restaurants, and the chips and salsa are always alright, but here, the chips were warm, as if they were just fried, and the salsa was fresh. If this is any indication of how good their food is, I would imagine it is excellent. Definitely will come back.

I can't say Rodrigo's is terrible Mexican food, but I can't say it's good or authentic either. Personally, I thought the food was pretty bland and pricey for what you get. They do serve complimentary chips and salsa with refills which was alright. Overall, I don't think I will be back. Living in Socal there are just much better options when it comes to Mexican food.
The inside is dated and the table seemed "sticky" despite having just been wiped down. They also had live music (it was a Friday night so I'm not sure if this is always the case) which was crazy loud even in the restaurant part (not just the bar), and it was not good.
There is a large parking lot, which is about the only "plus" to the atmosphere. -

Wholesome and authentic tasting Mexican restaurant tucked away in a dilapidated shopping plaza that needs revitalization! Easy parking in the big lot. The restaurant itself is really dated with some traditional Spanish style decor and features, but overall, I think the whole place needs renovations.
The food here is legit & REALLY, really good!!! My family and I have been coming here for 10+ years. Huge portions I can never finish!
Complimentary tortilla chips (perfectly fried) and delicious salsa served upon seating.
My kids always order the kids' platters: Quesadilla with fries or rice & beans, OR chicken tenders with fries or rice & beans. Kids' sized drinks are included, too.
I like getting the Carne Asada, Carnitas, or the Ultimate burrito. Comes with, or add/eliminate: Cheese, guacamole, beans, rice , pico de gallo, etc.
I've had their salads, various meat tacos, toastadas, some of Rodrigo's specialty items, and consistently, the food has been fantastic.
The service is usually awesome and the workers here are well mannered and attentive to customers.
Looking forward to coming here again soon. -

This place blows. The food is terrible, the beer is terrible, and the live entertainment was awful.
I don't know why they would have a awful rock band playing in a cantina. Played horrible music.
We payed and left.
Don't get the big appetizer platter. It's terrible. A bunch of stuff thrown together topped with a mountain of melted cheese. I love cheese but this was disgusting.
Update:
Why did this place change from don jose? It used to way better. Please teach your bartenders how to pour a proper beer with proper head. My beer had no head on it and made me feel super bloated and couldn't even finish my one beer.
Thanks. -

Bland, horrible and cold are the best (and worst) descriptions I could give of this place. My husband and I wanted to check it out since they changed the name. Before it was a Don Jose. We went in for the lunch menu. The only reason this place got 2 stars was because the prices were good and the service was decent. After that it was all down hill. I ordered the lunch flautas big mistake. They were supposed to be shredded beef. Meat tasted old and bland. And they were drenched in this horrible cheesy red sauce which just made them into a soggy mess. I ordered a water to get the taste out and was served TAP water! Seriously?! My husband got the steak fajitas and they were just as bad. Meat bland and tough to chew. Never again will I be back here!
